Nouns.    A noun is a word used to name a person, animal, place, thing, and abstract idea. Nouns are usually the first words which small children learn. The highlighted words in the following sentences are all nouns.

Pronouns.

A pronoun can replace a noun or another pronoun. You use pronouns like "he," "which," "none," and "you" to make your sentences less cumbersome and less repetitive.

Adjectives.

IAn adjective modifies a noun or a pronoun by describing, identifying, or quantifying words. An adjective usually precedes the noun or the pronoun which it modifies.nsert contents.

Preposition.

A preposition is a word governing, and usually coming in front of, a noun or pronoun and expressing a relation to another word or element 

Verbs.

Verbs show action, occurrence, or existence. They indicate number, person, tense, voice, and mood.

***Remember, verbs show action.

***If a word ends in -ing, there's a good chance it's a verb.
